Crochet Hook Handles, Mom Blogging

I recently won 18 beautiful crochet hooks from DLY's Hooks and Yarns! Since I have some trouble with my fingers cramping up when I crochet, I have made polymer clay handles for all my favorite hooks for many years now. That sure makes it much more comfy for me to crochet! So when I received these, I decided to do the same thing to some of them. I will do the rest of them with some really pretty colored clay and beads when I get a chance to. If you look closely, you can see I added an upholstery tack to the end of the clay for some more prettiness. When these were all cooled down, I coated them with a polymer clay shellac. I should have taken another pic when they were all shiny, but I forgot. It is a very easy process to do, so if anyone is interested, just e-mail me at, gloribee56 at hotmail dot com, and I will share how to do this.

 Are you wondering where Miss Mindy is these past two days? She is just fine, and is resting up for her special debut of "Halloween Spectacular Spookys"
But because of her ADHD, ( I sometimes really believe this of her), I agreed to give y'all a little idea of what it will be about.
Here is just a very small preview of what is to come. And this ain't nothing yet! Not hardly, no way! 
Be ready to loose all your hair, your britches, and whatever else, maybe even your mind!
It will start off quite mildly, just like the pic below. But everyday, be aware that we just may blow your minds!

This will start on the 24th of October, and run through Halloween. (even on the weekend when we don't normally post!) We have both worked very hard on this and can't wait to share with all of you, just how CUTE , LOVELY, A DIVA, and LADYLIKE,(????) Miss Mindy really is! She is hoping to get a gazillion treats this Halloween! We are going to be gone now until the 24th, so you can gather up all your courage and treats to join us then! (if you dare that is!)

Cinderella Castle, Mom Blogging Today

These are some of the prettiest photos of Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle, I have ever seen!  The first five were taken by a work friend of mine, Wendy. I do not remember where the last one came from. Even though I have tired of everything Disney now after eight years of living here in Central Florida, I will never be tired of looking at photos of this beautiful and exciting castle! I do hope you all enjoy them also!

Mom caught me in a different chair for a change. I do not usually sit on our dining room chairs, but this one looked so inviting! It kinda gives you an idea of my size I would say. My butt is certainly not big enough to fill it!

The Case Of The Missing Rock

There was a time when Mom's Dad, did a lot with rocks! He used to go to all kinds of rock shows, dig for rocks, and make jewelry out of many of his buys and finds! As a young girl, Mom got to go to many rock hunting expeditions. So she was quite lucky to learn about many kinds of rocks from her Dad, including a lot a semi-precious stones. The above rock is part of an Amethyst Geode. After Mom's Dad passed away, she choose to keep many of his treasured rocks including this one. When she moved to Florida, she placed it outside, amongst my Dad's many beautiful flowers. One day, she realized it was MISSING! She just could not understand what could have happened to it! The missing rock really bothered her, cause it was a very sentimental piece of her father. The fact that it went missing, also bothered my Dad. They both knew right where it had been, and thought it may have been covered over by new mulch. Dad started poking the soil in the area with a screwdriver, hoping to hit rock, BOL! All to no avail! One recent day, he decided to use a much longer screwdriver, and low and behold, he struck gold, er rock! Mom was just coming home from work while he was poking the soil, and knew exactly what he was searching for. She suddenly realized he had found something! Digging out the soft sandy soil, lo and behold, there was Mom's special "Daddy Rock"! After tears of joy and some much needed cleaning, the rock was placed near the other special rock of pink quartz!

Now are you wondering how the rock got buried? See the tree in above picture? It was planted approximately two years ago! Mom DID NOT plant this tree!!! Bet you can guess who did though! About eight inches below the surface of the ground, is where this rock was hiding for two whole years! Dad thought he was the hero of the day when he found it! Mom secretly said, PFFFT, but she led him to believe he indeed was a hero!

I am smiling, cause my Mom is so happy that the "Case of the missing rock" has finally been solved!

My Stick, Still

I still have my beautiful Juniper Fetching Stick! 

But I don't play fetch with it, I CHEW it! BOL! It takes a really long time to chew it down to nothing! Maybe because, it is NOT allowed in the house!

Oh, by the way, Madi sure was right yesterday about me watching a gecko. (behind the chair). He is one of my new friends around here! I keep trying to catch him, but he is way to fast for me!Lovies, Miss Mindy
