Memory Monday #4
This photo was taken in 1971 I believe. Sherri and I went on a road trip to Brunswick, Maine, with my Mom and Dad. My sister lived there with her husband, and two children. On the right, is my sister's daughter, Julia. I remember having quite a fun time there. We never got to know Julia real well, since we lived so far away. Julia went to be with the angels, after being in a car accident, in 1975 at just four yrs old. My girls used to send helium balloons up to Heaven for her. My sister made sure my girls knew a lot about Julia through the year. So, my daughters decided, who ever had the first girl, she would be named Julia. Hence, my granddaughter, Julia! My maternal grandmother's name, was also Julia. You have always been in my heart little Julie!

Handmade Cold Pack
![]() |
This is Julia, my Mom's granddaughter. She is almost 12 years old. I think she is very pretty, very smart, and very creative! I can't wait to meet her this summer! |
Mom made a cover for it, so the icy cold would not be touching her skin. She just happened to have this pretty pink fleece left over from my new cape. Lovies, Miss Mindy (auntie to the lovely Julia!) |

Memory Monday #2
Long, long ago, when a very special little boy was just three years old, he went to ballet classes with his best friend Abigail! This is my son, Clinton. (he is 29 now). Abby used to spend the weekdays with us, so the two of them became very close. To this day, they call each other cousins. Abby's mom wanted her daughter to take ballet lessons up the street from where we lived. She paid for both of them to go there. It was a fun time in their lives and also mine. This photo was taken on the day of their recital. The audience just loved them all!

Winter Capes For Me
My Mom made me some fabulous capes to wear outside on a chilly winter morning here in Florida. That sounds like an oxymoron almost, cause we had very few chilly mornings this winter! Anyway, she picked out two of my favorite colors, and patterned
them after one of Billy's old coats. She just happened to have the pink beaded edging and purple material for the bow, in her sewing box. I really like them a lot, just feel bad I didn't get to wear them to much. Maybe next year!

Memory Monday #1
Lovies, Miss Mindy
First of all, please excuse the quality of Monday's pics, as they are just photos taken of photos. The above photo of my family, was taken on Christmas of 1956, (I believe). From left to right, my mom, Evelyn, my sister, Darlene, me, and my dad, Allen, better known as Bud. Both my sister and I received a "Draft Dodger" doll from Santa Claus. We really liked them a lot and they were so cute in their red and white striped jammies! I may be wrong, but I believe I look a bit like my grandson Joey a little bit. We both have/ had round little faces and big eyes! I will have to ask my daughter Jennifer, if she agrees.
It's too bad that the "davenport" as it was called then, doesn't show up well. It was one of those OLD horse hair filled with something else, and not at all comfy. Oh and that ugly wallpaper! Yikes! How things have changed since then!
Have a great week my friends and see you next Monday.

Were You Brought Up In A Barn
This was suppose to be a dog house for me. But.........I hated it! After all, I wasn't brought up in a barn! It shoulda been a castle! Just sayin!
Lovies, Miss Mindy
Mom here; we have a neighbor that builds dollhouses. Ralph asked him one day if he built any dog houses. The man said, he had this one. Take it home and try it for a few days. So we did. Well, as you read above, Miss Mindy hated it, and wouldn't go in it at all. I really didn't believe it was Miss Mindy's style, but I really liked it a lot! I did feel that even though it was built very nicely, it was way to delicate for our pup's strong little teeth! So it was returned. We also decide that Miss Mindy has no need of a dog house!
