Zooming In

I have had the most fun lately, taking macro-zoom shots of all the flowers in our yard. The colors are so beautiful! As the cooler weather comes upon us, we will have more and more flowers. Ralph is the Gardener and he knows the names of everything. Me? I am just the photographer. I also like to use Photoscape with my pictures and put them in "windows" or frames.

See the Bee in this one?

Can you tell I had fun? I promise you, I did! More to come, I promise! (but not enough to bore you, I promise) oops, sure am making a lot of promises, lol

Yummy Proprietor

This is a bakery window on the Boardwalk, in Florida. We thought it was quite cute and they had lots of yummy things inside also! We decided to be good and not buy any of their calorie loaded goodies.

Hollywood Studios

Every year on our aniversary, we like to go to one of the many tourest attractions here in central florida. This year we chose to go to Hollywood Studios, as we haven't been there in about 4 1/2 yrs. We had a perfect day until about 3:30, then we got a thunder storm. Certainly a normal thing to happen at that time of day, this time of the year. Regardless, we had a lot of fun!Rockin Roller Coaster. This was one of the best roller coaster rides I have ever been on! Spectacular! Not at all scary! And no, it did not come outside on that track.

Me resting, on steps of a building facade at Hollywood Studios.

Looks like a real street right? Nope, just a facade! Thats Ralph waving come on honey.

More Back Yard Friends

I have been told that this is a male gecko, he is trying to attract a female here, by showing the thingy on his throat.

Believe it or not, they are a lot of fun to watch. They are always chasing each other all around.

And, we also have seen them in different colors. Black, dark brown, light brown, green and one even had a blue colored tail!

They seem to love our entire yard, running all over, and through the pretty flowers.

Retired; Ralph, Not Me

I am to young to be retired yet. But, my better half loves to boast that he is!

Besides being Retired Navy, Ralph is also Retired Post Office.

Of course, I had to put my two cents on the vehicle! I am counting down the days to my retirement though. Will I entirely retire though? Naw, I like to work!

Got all my paws crossed, my tail a waggin, and praying like mad! Yes, dogs do pray! I will get to see him when the folks take me to MA for his BIG wedding!

Before And After

Here I am with my long, very whispy hair. Mom always tells me I must be having a bad hair day, cause my hair has never been pretty like most yorkies. I tell her' yeah, look at your own hair! Just cause I am not beauty parlor fresh, I am still good lookin in my own way. Besides, I am a guy, who cares?

Here I am after she got out that dratted chain saw, (dog clipper), and shaved me down to nudity! Good thing she didn't touch my beard and top locks with that noisy dang thing! And it is also a good thing that she has an assortment of shirts for me to wear, to cover up my baldness! This shirt is my Navy, First Mate one that I like to wear for my dad. ( He is retired Navy, a whole nother blog). She didn't get to my toenails yet. Good thing too, cause I will give her a whole lot more trouble then too! She wraps me in a straight jacket (towel) for that horrible ordeal. She thinks she is actually making me cute with all her torture. Who the heck do I have to impress at my age anyway?

A Day We Remember

Today's post is a two-parter. How can any of us ever forget 8 yrs ago today? I never will! Besides the thousands who lost their lives that day, the families who suffered immensely because of those losses, there came other thoughts that have remained heavy on many of our hearts. My son was in boot camp on 9/11/01. While watching and listening to the news that day, I realized, this was going to affect my son in the near future. He is just now finishing his second tour in the Middle East. When I think of all the loved ones left at home, while our soldiers continue to shed blood, sweat and tears for us, I am so overwhelmed. Heartache for all the families left behind, and an awesome love for those who continue to fight for our country overcomes me every time I hear another soldier has died for his country. But......I am in love with our Great Nation. I am so in awe every time I see a flag flowing with a breeze. I am proud of my son and all his comrades. I am a very grateful American!

Then, also on this date, there was Sunny skies, food, flowers, family and friends, Gathered pool side, for the Marriage of two people. Music, laughter and lots of smiles.

Five years ago today!

The Bells Will Ring Tomorrow

This is my somewhat new wind chime. Of course it takes a strong wind to even have it make some noise, as it is quite heavy. You can see, it is made up of flower pots. Of course I had to paint it in patriotic colors! Tomorrow, would be a very good day for a stiff wind to blow, and make these chime, to remember the anguish so many suffered on 9-11.

Whats Cookin Dad

Billy is waiting patiently for his daddy to fix supper. Everytime we go into the pantry, or open a box, or crinkle a bag, Billy is right there waiting to see what he maybe getting for a snack. He is so human sometimes!

Lovin Chocolate

You ask, why would I snap a photo of a Hersheys chocolate can? For no other reason, than I absolutely love chocolate. If you read the label though, this is not your ordinary can of Hersheys syrup. actually a candle......that smells just like chocolate. Lite this baby up, and you will think you have died and gone to heaven! And no calories either! doesn't really sastify my need to savor some of this sweet treet:(

Billy is getting a lot of loving right after the snake incident! Sure wish we knew how much he knew about what was going on, but had to do this, just in case the afternoon was tramatic for him.
