"The Day Is Done"

" The Day Is Done" I have a CD tucked away, with this very special song on it. I can't even remember who sings it, but I have always loved it. Today, I dedicate it to my Billy. He was not eating well for the past few months and he took a turn for the worse this week. His Daddy and I decided this morning, that it was time for him to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Just before 11 AM, he did just that. He is now running and jumping like the youngster he once was! He was my little buddy, and my sweet baby for 13 1/2 years. What wonderful memories I have! Thank You Lord for giving me the most wonderful caregiving job, of such a precious darling! And I thank my husband Ralph also, who grew to love this little guy as much as I did, for the past eight years. What a tight pair they had become! And also, to my friends and family that have visited this blog, I thank you too, for being here for us these past few years on here. This is not the end of my blog, but it may be a very long time before I have anything of interest to put on it. I sure will continue reading all of yours, but if I don't comment for awhile, please understand.

Shufelt's Sweet William, AKA Billy
Born: 11-23-97
Gotcha day: 1-31-98
Died: 6-8-11

And always remember, Dog is spelled God backwards! Our dogs certainly give us a reminder of God's true Love!

So sorry for your loss, but I see that you were somewhat prepared, that helps, a little. What a darling your little Sweet William was! I saw his picture for the first time today and my heart melted. Bless you for taking such good care of him.

Oh Gloria and Ralph...I'm just about as heartbroken as you two must be. I actually let out a gasp as I read the first few sentences. I have come to love Billy's precious little face and expression. The ultimate gift we can give our pet is to love it to pieces each and every day and to know when to let he/she go. Rest in peace and run free Sweet William you knew love and gave love...and that is indeed a blessing. God Bless you all,
Madi and Mom

Gloria,
Madi and I are dedicating tomorrow's Thursday Theme song to Billy. I preapred it yesterday..it is a Beach song and I think quite appropriate for a puppy as special as Billy.
I'm so sorry as I type I have tears in my eyes.

We heard about Billy's passing from Dog Daze and just wanted to let you know how sorry we are that your hearts are hurting. It's obvious that you all were very lucky to have each other. I hope that someday soon, your tears will turn to smiles whenever you think of him.

Gloria and Ralph,
Amazing that we have never met face-to-face, but friendships have been made through our respective blogs and FB. Billy was a special part of my day and I grew to love the little fella. He will be missed so much by your readers. My heart just breaks for you, but I am glad you got to say your goodbyes. He needed that comfort and love as his little body finally let go. You gave him a good life full of love and he gave it back. Please continue to share pictures of him from time to time...if it's not too painful.
Okie hugs from Liz and Tootie...

Sassy, Buddy, and Zack sent us over your way. It is always so sad to say goodbye to one of our furry friends. Billy looks like a great little guy and I bet he was lots of fun. I know that he is happy and running free now and likely eating pizza and going through the endless MacDonald's drive-thru. But it is a sad day for those he left behind.

My deepest condolences! I heard about Billy on Madi's blog and had to come share some warm wishes for you. There is nothing quite like the love between an animal and his or her 'staff', and we are all blessed to experience it. *hugs*
